About the Institution
The Govt. Mizoram Law College offers Three Year Unitary Course of Law (LL.B) and established in 1983. The college is a lone Legal Institution in the state of Mizoram. It plays a vital role in absorbing the aspiring local youths in the line of legal education. It is serving as an avenue for continuing education for the youths and provider/ facilitator of employments as is Professional course and then to achieve justice in the society. The college is having provisional approval of affiliation from Bar Council of India (BCI) and permanently affiliated to Mizoram University and is registered under section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act. It is a NAAC accredited with Grading ‘C’ Grade SGPA 1.97. The College is located in the western part of the Aizawl City, at the adjacent of Govt. Ch. Chhunga High School, Luangmual, near the YHAI Hostel. It is on the side of the main road leading to Mizoram University.
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM
Holidays: The Institution shall remain closed on the Public Holidays as declared by Govt. of Mizoram.

Objectives of the College
- This programme is designed to create thorough-bred legal professionals.
- Its objective is to impart legal education to the students from various backgrounds and equip them to perform various roles of a professional lawyer beyond the traditional role of litigation.
- The students will gain knowledge and develop advocacy skills which will help them in achieving their goals and objective and serve the society.
- The Course is open to those who have completed any graduate stream.
- The College is affiliated to Mizoram University and recognized by Section 2(f) & 12B of UGC Act, 1956. At the time, the college is also affiliated to the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The IGNOU School of Law has also been activating its programme in Govt. Mizoram Law College as IGNOU Study Centre No.1934.

Statutory Declaration under Right to Information Act:
Sec-4(1) (b) of RTI Act 2005 covers the statutory declaration of Govt. Mizoram Law College Website (www.mlc.mizoram.gov.in). It covers all the rules and regulations which are implemented by Government of Mizoram. The College is one of the colleges run by the Government of Mizoram and is registered under Section 2(f) and Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. It runs as per rules and regulations made by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Mizoram.
The College comes under General Audit by Statutory Auditor – referred by the Director of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Mizoram - who gives certificate and remark regarding maintenance of financial transactions. The College has different Committees to maintain all types of disciplines on the campus. These cells or committees of the institution are formed by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and are under the purview of section 4(1) (b) of RTI Act 2005. The applications under the RTI Act, along with a postal order/demand draft for Rs.10.00 obtained in favour of Principal, Govt. Mizoram Law College may be sent to the Principal or handed over in his office. All information about the college is open for the public and it can it obtained by citizens of India.
